TACOMA, Wash. — The Salt Lake Bees were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Tacoma Thursday night as they continued preparations for the postseason.

Salt Lake clinched the Northern Division title of the PCL earlier in the week.

Tacoma put a run across in the sixth and two across in the eighth to notch the win. The Rainiers scored their run in the bottom of the sixth when Jeff Clement singled on a hard liner to right field, bringing home center fielder Adam Jones.

Jones scored again two innings later. This time, it was off a solo home run to left-center. Tacoma added another insurance run off Jeff Clement's sacrifice fly.

Jones was the lone offensive standout for either team, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

The evening wasn't all bad for Salt Lake, which doesn't have anything to play for. Starting pitcher Kasey Olenberger was solid throughout. He threw seven innings, scattering five hits and only allowing one run.

Offensively, nobody got anything going for the Bees. Salt Lake only had four hits, two of which were from Nick Gourneault.

The Bees conclude their regular season with a four-game homestand against Portland beginning tonight at 7. Salt Lake will begin the playoffs next Wednesday, a best-of-five series with the Tucson Sidewinders.
