ANDREW SMITH, Wasatch Academy: This senior had himself a career day last Friday.

In the first game of a doubleheader against Manila he recorded a double, a home run and six RBIs. In the second game, he added another homer and five RBIs, while also picking up the complete game one-hit shutout.

"This is Andrew's fourth year on this, and he has been the team captain the last two years and his leadership is instrumental in how the team performs," said coach Linda Smith. "He gives everything he has on the field and he wants to win and see the team succeed."

Smith also maintains a 4.0 GPA.

KATIE ASTLE, Skyline: This senior middle blocker provides the Eagles with both statistical and emotional leadership.

"She's a very dynamic hitter," said Eagle coach Jami Hutchings. "She can hit from any position and she's hitting over .500 this season."

Her performance last weekend at the Las Vegas Invitational earned her the MVP award and the Eagles a championship trophy. The honor student has committed to play volleyball at Utah State, but she doesn't just rely on her talent to make her a valuable part of the Skyline squad.

"She's very happy and very supportive of all of her teammates," Hutchings said.
