WELLSVILLE, Cache County The American West Heritage Center has received a $6,000 contribution from the Kathryn C. Wanlass Charitable Foundation to fund a scholarship program for students from the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Indians attending Utah State University.
Bruce Parry, executive director of the Shoshone band, said the generous donation was part of "Mrs. Wanlass' continued support of the vital educational initiatives of the tribe." Her foundation also helped fund the creation and production of a children's book that was illustrated by the young members of the tribe.
