Snakes make good neighbors

Having already jumped through all the legal hoops, the Sutherland family should be granted permission by the Mapleton City Council to establish their python breeding facility without further delay. The Sutherlands have shown good faith and have invested a significant amount of money in both the project and the town. The good folks of Mapleton can rest easy knowing that ball pythons are small (3 to 4 feet in length), docile and very beautiful. Forget the Hollywood stereotype of deadly, man-eating snakes. These lovely serpents are highly desirable as pets, are completely harmless and can be easily handled by children. Their defense mechanism is to roll into a ball when threatened, hence their name.

Most snakes are quiet, disease-free, reclusive and nonconfrontational. Heck, most snakes make better neighbors than most people.
