Want a piece of Granger Elementary history?
The school's PTA is selling bricks from the old school today for $5 apiece. The bricks will come with a card that includes a photo of the school, its "Where the cool go to school" logo, and the dates 1955-2006.
The bricks can be purchased from noon until 3 p.m. today from PTA President Christine Wilkins at 2186 W. Alesa St. (3580 South). About 500 are available for purchase. Proceeds go to the PTA and the school's programs.
Granger Elementary School has been leveled as part of the redevelopment of the adjacent Valley Fair Mall. A Costco store is to open on the parcel in time for the holiday season.
Granger students are attending school at the old Wilson Elementary near 2800 South and 200 East.
