"It will be seen in their apartments in Germany and in their tents in the deserts of Iraq, as well as locations all over the globe. It's our gift to the military here, and we hope it will be a touch of home for our fellow citizens serving abroad."

Patty was invited to perform as part of the event by the non-profit group Feed the Children, Jessop said. The performance will also be recorded for television as a benefit for Feed the Children.

The military salute to families of the fallen will include a bagpipe tribute, with Patty slated to sing "Amazing Grace" as photos of the soldiers are shown on the huge screens inside the Conference Center. "I think it will be a very poignant way to conclude our concert," Jessop said.

Though the Conference Center normally hosts LDS audiences, Jessop knows a good share of his audience will not be Latter-day Saints, and that many have never been inside the building or even heard much of the music to be featured, which makes it just that much more important, he said.

"I think God loves us all just the same."
