The Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts will host "Maynard Dixon Country 2006," an annual art show, sale and artist paint-out Wednesday through Sunday in Mt. Carmel. The event will feature work by 45 of the nation's best landscape painters. The Utah Arts Council will have Dave Block of KSL and Brandon Griggs of the Salt Lake Tribune present "Press Releases and Getting Publicity" Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the Rio Grande Depot, 300 S. Rio Grande (455 West). Admission is free. For more information call Laura Durham at 533-3582.

The September issue of Southwest Art includes a four-page article with art on Kanosh artist Brian Kershisnik.

The Utah Arts Council, in conjunction with the Community Writing Center, will sponsor a grant writing workshop beginning Wednesday, Sept. 6. The workshop will be at the Community Writing Center located at Library Square, 210 E. 400 South, Suite B, from 3:30-5 p.m. every other Wednesday until Nov. 15. The cost is $300.
