The Holladay Library, 2150 E. Murray-Holladay Road (4730 South) is now open.
The library was closed at the end of May for remodeling.
The building's interior has been reconfigured to improve efficiency and create a more welcoming environment for patrons.
A new boiler was installed, light fixtures were added and improved, new desks and computer stations appeared and the old trimmings were dressed up with new carpet, fresh paint colors and stylish upholstery. The children's area has a whole new flavor, inviting young readers in with a southwest theme complete with desert landscapes and curious critters.
One of the more intriguing innovations is the introduction of high-tech radio frequency identification self-checkout that will help reduce checkout lines and speed up circulation procedures. Upgraded security is also part of the renewal package.
