ROBINSON, NETS AGREE: Clifford Robinson will play again for the New Jersey Nets.

The troubled forward, suspended during last season's playoffs for violating the NBA's drug policy, has reached an agreement with the Nets and passed his physical, team president Rod Thorn said Friday.

Robinson, a key backup for Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins, turns 40 in December.

Robinson said he still can contribute to the team, which did not disclose terms of the deal.

ASU DISMISSES PLAYER: Senior guard Bryson Krueger, Arizona State's second-leading scorer last season, has been kicked off the team following his arrest for possession of a gun and various drugs.

Krueger, 22, was taken into custody early Wednesday after Tempe police said two Ecstasy pills, a Xanax painkiller pill, four grams of cocaine and an unregistered, loaded .40-caliber handgun were found in his car.

Authorities said Friday that Krueger's case has been referred to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, which is investigating and could file criminal charges.

Arizona State announced Thursday that Krueger had been dismissed from the basketball program, citing unspecified off-court behavior.

BROKEN JAW FOR CONRAD: Kansas City Wizards captain Jimmy Conrad likely will miss four to six weeks to recover from a fractured jaw. Conrad, the 2005 MLS Defender of the Year and a member of the U.S. World Cup team, was injured when New England Revolution midfielder Clint Dempsey hit Conrad with his elbow Wednesday. The Wizards' team captain has started 11 matches for Kansas City and scored two goals this season.

WILSON RELEASED: FC Dallas released midfielder Mark Wilson on Friday to allow him to pursue playing opportunities in Europe. Wilson, a native of England, joined the team in September 2005. He started seven of the eight remaining regular-season games and in two playoff games. Wilson played in 12 games in 2006 before he was sidelined by tendinitis in his left Achilles tendon. He scored his only goal for the team against Real Salt Lake in 2005.

ROGERS CUP: Richard Gasquet and Andy Murray defeated seeded players Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Rogers Cup in Toronto. Gasquet upset Tomas Berdych 6-4, 6-1, and Murray rallied to beat Jarkko Nieminen 6-4, 6-7 (0), 6-3. They will play each other Saturday.
