Third District Judge Robin Reese has rescheduled a preliminary hearing for Brenda Christine White, who is accused of running over her estranged husband, Jon White, with her sport utility vehicle.

White, 30, is charged with first-degree felony attempted criminal homicide and second-degree felony criminal mischief.

Both the prosecutor and White's defense attorney agreed that a half-day hearing would be needed to hear from various witnesses. Reese set it for Oct. 25.

White was not required to be in court Thursday. She originally was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail with bail set at $500,000. She posted bail and was released, but later was arrested and taken to the jail again for allegedly violating a court protective order by trying to contact the couple's two young children.

Defense attorney Jason Schatz on Thursday said White has since posted bail again, has been out of jail for "a long time" and "is doing fine."

The couple is in the process of divorcing. A surveillance camera captured White's vehicle crashing through the glass doors in a building and moving toward Jon White, who had an injured leg. The video captured national attention.
