PAGE, Ariz. A 2-year-old Logan boy drowned at Lake Powell on Wednesday.
The National Park Service said Ryan Adams and his family were on a houseboat in Warm Creek Bay at the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. They had finished swimming and were drying off to eat lunch when the boy vanished. His life jacket had just been removed so he could change when he disappeared from the boat, rangers said.
After searching frantically for several minutes, Park Service rangers were contacted. A helicopter and boaters searched for the boy. About 1:15 p.m., the boy surfaced in the water. He was transported to a Page, Ariz., hospital where he was pronounced dead.
