Heritage Plastics plans Milford plant
Heritage Plastics said Heritage Plastics West will be its first plant in this part of the United States and will serve seven Western states and Hawaii.
Based in Weatherford, Texas, the company manufactures electrical conduit, utility duct and fittings for power, cable, Internet, telephone data and voice transmission lines.
To be built on 13 acres in the city's industrial park, the 50,000-square-foot facility will feature six extrusion lines and two fabrication machines. Groundbreaking will take place this month, with operation expected to begin in the first quarter of 2007.
Twenty-five people will work at the plant initially, but the company said it plans to add two more extrusion lines during the first year, adding to the employment total.
"I couldn't be more pleased about Heritage Plastics decision to make this very significant investment and expand operations to Milford," Milford Mayor Eugene Mayer said in a prepared statement. "Milford city is an ideal location for companies looking to expand their operations while taking advantage of the cost benefits and available support."
U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch, Beaver County Economic Development Director Rob Adams and Economic Development Corp. of Utah Business Development Manager Brad Baird also provided special assistance, the company said.
"Heritage Plastics is the fastest growing conduit manufacturer in the country, and today's announcement demonstrates Heritage Plastics' commitment to the expansion of capacity to support the rapid growth of our customer base, as well as anticipated growth in the region," Bill Raffaele, Heritage Plastics Central's president, said in a prepared statement.
