Utah Valley

SOFTBALL: Coach Todd Fairbourne has added former Wolverine softball star Rachel Hartgrove as an assistant coach for the upcoming year. Hartgrove just completed her senior year at Utah Valley, where she hit .364 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs. She was also was named to the first-team All-Independent squad three straight years. The former Wolverine was also the Independent player of the year her junior year.

Weber State

TRACK & FIELD: Former track and football standout Wiley King has been named an assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field teams. He will be a full-time assistant coach to men's head coach Chick Hislop and women's head coach Jim Blaisdell. King will assist in coaching the hurdles, sprints and jumps, as well as help in recruiting for the Wildcats.

King ended his career at Weber State in May 2006 as one of the best track and field athletes in the history of the Big Sky Conference. During his senior year, he became the Big Sky's all-time scoring leader in indoor and outdoor championships.

BYU

VOLLEYBALL: The American Volleyball Coaches Association has announced that BYU is one of 54 NCAA Division I volleyball programs that have received the team academic award for the 2005-06 season. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors college and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale and a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year. The Cougars had a 3.51 cumulative GPA for the season.
