ST. GEORGE Police used a Taser to subdue a man in a violent stand-off Wednesday night.
Police said a 53-year-old man had become intoxicated on alcohol and prescription pills and assaulted family members inside a trailer near 300 North and 2700 East.
The SWAT team surrounded the home and police were able to throw a phone inside to communicate with the man, St. George Police Sgt. Craig Harding said. Harding said the man became combative and officers had to use a Taser to subdue the man before arresting him on investigation of aggravated assault. He was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center where he is being treated.
