The Utah Arts Council has awarded $10,000 Visual Arts Fellowships to Mark England of Salt Lake and Jacqui Larsen of Springville. The council will recognize this year's recipients, as well as the 2007 Fellowship recipient, in an exhibition opening at the Rio Gallery in March 2007. Kindred Spirits, a unique fine arts organization, will have a summer workshop, "Rubber & Wind: The Design and Construction of Tire Swings," on Aug. 14-18, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Kindred Spirits art studio, 974 E. 2100 South. Participants must preregister by Monday due to the nature of supplies necessary for the workshop. The cost is $80, which includes material. For more information call 232-1430.

The Utah Arts Council will host a seminar on writing press releases and getting publicity on Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Rio Grande Depot, 300 S. Rio Grande.
