NEW YORK — Johnny Damon hit a pair of home runs and Mike Mussina won his fifth straight decision, leading the New York Yankees over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 4-2 Sunday.

Mussina (13-3) allowed two runs and five hits in seven innings. He struck out eight, walked two and has not lost since June 15 against Cleveland.

Kyle Farnsworth pitched a scoreless eighth and Mariano Rivera worked the ninth for his 26th save in 28 chances as the Yankees bounced back after Tampa Bay's 19-6 win Saturday.

Damon hit his 12th homer off James Shields (4-5) in the fifth inning to give New York a 3-2 lead. He connected again in the seventh. It was his 10th career multihomer game and second this season.

TWINS 6, TIGERS 4: At Minneapolis, Michael Cuddyer hit a two-run triple in Minnesota's six-run eighth inning. Jeremy Bonderman's balk let the tying run score in the eighth and Luis Castillo drove in the go-ahead run with a groundout.

Bonderman (11-5) was breezing past Twins ace Johan Santana, who couldn't find the strike zone and lasted only 5 1-3 innings in one of his shakiest outings of the season, until the eighth — when Minnesota turned a bunch of choppers and two errors into a six-run inning.

Pat Neshek (1-0) got one out for his first major league victory. Joe Nathan gave up an RBI single by Chris Shelton in the ninth, but held on for his 22nd save to keep the Twins from getting swept at home for the first time this year.

ORIOLES 8, WHITE SOX 7: At Baltimore, Javy Lopez's bases-loaded single in the ninth inning off Bobby Jenks capped a two-run comeback for the Orioles. Baltimore trailed 7-6 before rallying to avoid a three-game sweep. Jeff Conine also singled in a run in the ninth for the Orioles. Jenks (2-3) had converted 19 straight save opportunities and was an AL-best 28-for-29 this season.

Eddy Rodriguez (1-1) worked the ninth for the win.

Jermaine Dye had five RBIs, including a three-run homer in the eighth inning that gave the White Sox a 7-6 lead. Paul Konerko also homered for Chicago.

MARINERS 7, INDIANS 3: At Cleveland, Jose Lopez and Raul Ibanez each had two-run singles with two outs in the ninth to help Seattle get the win. Jacob Woods (3-1) pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the win and J.J. Putz got out of a jam in the ninth for his 22nd save in 26 chances. Cleveland lost for the 11th time in 15 games since July 14.
