Microsoft's president and chief executive officer, Steve Ballmer, will be the keynote speaker for the Utah Technology Council's eighth annual Hall of Fame celebration, set for Oct. 27.
Ballmer joined the company in 1980. He was promoted to president in 1998 and named CEO in 2000.
The Hall of Fame event will feature the induction of Jim Kajiya and Dinesh Patel. Kajiya, an Academy Award winner, is a computer graphics hardware and software designer as well as developer of programming languages. Patel has founded or co-founded three biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and been an investor in numerous others.
