The Wolverines also play in the UCF Fall Classic hosted by Central Florida September 1-2, host the annual LaQuinta Invitational Sept. 8 and 9, and then play in the Hyatt Invitational hosted by San Jose State.

UV will continue its tradition of going to battle against in-state rivals in 2006, playing five matches against four Utah schools. The Wolverines will travel to Ogden to take on Weber State on Aug. 29, and will see the Wildcats again on Sept. 8 as part of the LaQuinta Invitational.

First year Division II team and former Wolverine junior college rival, Dixie State will come to Orem on Sept. 22.

NCAA tournament teams BYU, and Utah are scheduled again, with the Cougars coming to the Activity Center on Oct. 3, and UV traveling to Salt Lake City to take on the Utes on Oct. 10.

The Wolverines close out the regular season playing five out of six matches against fellow Division-I Independent schools with four of those matches being played at the friendly confines of the Activity Center in Orem. UV dominated Division-I Independent play last season going 13-3 against other D-I Independent teams.

BYU women's soccer

Six NCAA Tournament participants and two top-25 teams highlight the BYU women's soccer season, with the Cougars playing a total of 18 games — 10 at home and 8 on the road.

The Cougars finished with a 15-2-4 record in 2005, the best in BYU history, and expects to become a more dominant team this year.

Home games will be played at South Stadium in Provo, beginning with the Blue & White game pitting the current team against former players. BYU is looking to add a second exhibition match besides the Aug. 19 SUU contest.

The Cougars begin 2006 playing four of their first five at home, opening by hosting Weber State (the team which ousted BYU in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament) and Idaho State. After a match at Georgia, the Cougars return to Provo to welcome NCAA participants Colorado and Fresno State.

Four road matches follow — at Pacific, at Utah State and two in Seattle against Washington and Washington State — before BYU closes both September and nonleague play back home against Arizona and San Franciso.

The Cougars initiate Mountain West Conference play with matches at TCU and Utah, followed by a trio of home games against San Diego State, Air Force and Wyoming, before finishing at New Mexico and then home versus UNLV.

The 2006 MWC Tournament will be played in Salt Lake City Nov. 1-4.

UVSC women's soccer

The Wolverines have seven home games on their 2006 schedule and play two teams that competed in last year's NCAA tournament.
