The Holladay Library, 2150 E., Murray-Holladay Road, is closed until late summer for renovation. The Holladay library opened nearly 35 years ago. Among the innovations featured at the new library were microfilmed periodicals, an extensive paperback collection and an audio circulation system.
However, the facility, built in 1972, is no longer adequate. Upgrades, including the removal of asbestos, new paint, carpet, boiler, lighting and workstations; fixtures and service stations; and high-tech radio frequency identification self-check out will be made over the summer.
Patrons are encouraged to use other branches, including the East Millcreek library at 2266 Evergreen Ave. or the Whitmore library at 2197 E. Fort Union Blvd.
