Another 'red' day due to ozone levels

The Utah Department of Environmental Quality has issued a "red" air pollution alert for today because of high ozone levels.

The agency warns that being outdoors from mid-morning through the afternoon can be unhealthy for very young children and individuals with asthma, respiratory problems or heart disease.

The alert applies to Salt Lake, Davis, Utah, Tooele and Weber counties.

The state agency recommends that people in those counties try to not drive their cars and make use of public transportation or carpooling as much as possible.
