OREM The Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum announced its 2006 "Top 25 Under Five" awards Thursday, honoring the state's best young companies.
The honorees 26 due to a tie were recognized at ceremonies at the Novell Provo campus.
XanGo was recognized as the top performer in the group for the second consecutive year. Another previous award winner, Omniture, was honored as a "Gold Graduate" with its recent initial public offering.
Companies are judged on profit, growth, equity funding, job creation and job quality.
"Utah provides a fertile business climate for the growth of entrepreneurial ventures," Steve Grizzell, chairman of the UVEF board, said in a prepared statement. "The 'Top 25 Under Five Award' winners are among Utah's best ambassadors for its vibrant small-business community."
