Fans' reaction to Salt Lake County Council's decision to reject the funding for a Sandy-based soccer stadium

Question: How do you feel about Salt Lake County Council's decision to reject the funding plan for a Sandy-based soccer stadium?

"I think that's bad for everyone. I don't really know why they don't want it out there, Sandy is a nice place."Frank Ruiz, 44, Salt Lake City

"I think they should move the field to Sandy. It's terrible to play (on Rice Eccles Field) because AstroTurf is dangerous to play soccer on. The stadium is beautiful but there are many reasons to move."Alexandra Sanchez, 21, Midvale

"It was 5-4, somebody missed it. If I were Dave Checketts, I'd say, 'Alright guys, I'll see ya later!'"Peter Hein, 68, Sandy

"I saw it coming. Real lost the PR battle. All you heard is people saying, 'I don't want my taxes going to this.' It's not their taxes, it's hotel taxes."Scot Boyd, 39, Sandy

"It's lame. They have a pro team, but they won't give them a stadium. I'm pretty sure (Real) will move within two years." Russell McCluskey, 18, Salt Lake City

"I'm very upset about it. I don't think it's fair. I understand they are waiting for the fan base, but I think we already have a fan base."Amy Schroeder, 31, Salt Lake City
