The 80-foot high observation deck offers an impressive overview of the plant — including the sedum-covered roofs that are environmentally friendly. Then you take a walkway through the Ford F-150 truck assembly plant and watch both robots and workers put the vehicles together.

Ford once said he established his museum and village "to show how far and fast we have come." You can't help but wonder what he'd think of his factory today.

At The Henry Ford, inspiration and amazement are around every corner. Ford's primary goal was to help people reflect on the ideas that shape every aspect of everyday life — and it does that very well.

"As a nation," he said, "we have not depended so much on rare or occasional genius as on the general resourcefulness of our people." It's an idea well worth thinking about.
