PROVO A delegation from Provo's sister city, Meissen, Germany, is in Provo until Thursday.
The head of the delegation is the Lord Mayor of Meissen, Olaf Raschke, who is accompanied by three members of the Meissen Council. The delegation will participate in a ceremonial signing of a sister-city agreement today at 11 a.m. Mayor Lewis Billings and members of Provo's City Council will represent Provo.
Following the ceremony, a "Friendship Tree" will be planted and butterflies will be released as a symbolic gesture of goodwill.
The Meissen delegation attended the Stadium of Fire and will view the Grand Parade of America's Freedom Festival Tuesday.
