These are just a few of the many Gina Bachauer Piano Competition winners who have gone on to tour in major concert halls around the world, as well as establishing themselves in other musical endeavors.

Angela Cheng

Fourth place, 1984

Recording artist; faculty member at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Ohio; touring classical pianist, has played Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Wigmore Hall (London), Abravanel Hall.

Benedetto Lupo

Third place, 1986

Touring, Alice Tully Hall (Lincoln Center), Wigmore Hall.

Xiang Dong Kong

First place, 1988

Has established and is overseeing 75 music schools in China.

Kevin Kenner

Second place, 1988

Professor at London's Royal College of Music, touring, Musik Schule (Germany), Florianka Hall (Poland), Sikorski Museum (London).

Ilya Itin

Third place, 1991

Touring, Kennedy Center, Salle Pleyel and Chatelet Theatre (both in Paris), Royal Festival Hall (London).

Yundi Li

First place, Junior Bachauer, 1999

Won Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland; recording artist, touring, Carnegie Hall, Ozawa Hall (Tanglewood, Mass.), Royal Festival Hall (London).

Vassily Primakov

Second place, 2002

Recording artist, touring, Kennedy Center, Gardner Museum (Boston).

Cedric Pescia

First place, 2002
