The Utah Department of Transportation advises motorists of the following highway closures and lane restrictions because of construction work:

• Today to Sept. 2: Construction is under way on I-15 in Nephi. Traffic is being restricted to one lane in each direction 24 hours a day. All motorists are being diverted onto the northbound lanes while crews rebuild various sections of concrete along southbound I-15 from Exits 228 to 222.

The construction work also has caused the closure of the southbound off-ramp at Exit 222, the southbound on-ramp at Exit 225 and the northbound off-ramp at Exit 228.

The speed limit through the work zone is reduced to 55 mph. Motorists should expect heavy travel delays over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

• Tuesday-Wednesday and July 9-13: Southbound I-15 will be restricted to two lanes from 1200 West in Lehi to 500 East in American Fork between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for paving operations. Motorists will be able to use the car-pool lane as a regular travel lane in the work zone. Moderate travel delays are expected.

• Wednesday to July 7: U.S. 189 in Provo Canyon will be closed near Deer Creek Dam between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for excavation work. Motorists will need to use I-15 and I-80 as the detour route.

• Thursday to July 17: Northbound I-15 in Spanish Fork will be restricted to one lane from the Main Street interchange to approximately one mile northward for bridge repair.
