Michael Allred, writer and artist of the graphic-novel Book of Mormon mini-series "The Golden Plates," will be signing copies of his work tonight at Black Cat Comics, 2265 S. Highland Drive.
"The Golden Plates" is Allred's 12-volume retelling of stories from The Book of Mormon in comic-book form. The Oregon-based artist also created the "Madman" series and drew Marvel Comics' "X-Force" and "X-Statix" series.
Allred will be at the store from 5-7 p.m. He will also be selling copies of a hardback edition (limited to 600 copies) of the first three issues of "The Golden Plates."
For more information on the store signing, call 461-4228 or browse Allred's Web site, www.aaapop.com.
