Lee Oliver Squire states that anyone who runs a tattoo parlor is a menace and should be shunned (Readers' Forum, June 26). He also tells his grandchild that he's making the wrong friends because they have tattoos.
Isn't it sad that there are still people who incorrectly associate tattoos and the people who have them as a menace? Blanket statements like this show his true colors. He is unable to get past the ink and possibly learn something about someone different than himself. Unfortunately, he's teaching his grandchildren the same flawed point of view.
People from all walks of life get tattoos for many reasons. I have met some truly incredible, giving people who had tattoos.
