OREM One of Stephen R. Covey's newest ideas will be embodied in his patriotic service speech, "Becoming a Patriotic Trim Tabber."
The world-renowned speaker, teacher and author of numerous books on business, success-building and religious topics, Covey is the keynote speaker at the service that begins at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 2, at the McKay Events Center at Utah Valley State College. Admission is free.
Covey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and advanced degrees from Harvard and Brigham Young University, according to his Web site. He also serves on the festival's national advisory board.
The service was moved to UVSC because of refurbishing going on at its traditional home, the Marriott Center at Brigham Young University, said Sherry Peterson, president of America's Freedom Festival at Provo.
A new sound system has recently been installed at the McKay Events Center, she said.
The Freedom Festival Concert Band will perform before, during and after the service, which includes a talk from speech contest winner Enoch Hunsaker, a junior at Timpview High School. Recipients of Friday's black-tie Awards Gala will also be recognized, Peterson said.
