BOISE Utah's Avalanche Black team scored a 2-1 victory Saturday over Real Colorado National and will play for the regional title in the Under-18 Girls youth soccer group.
The Avalanche Black will take on San Diego Surf today in Boise. Elli Reed and Sydne Porter had goals for the Utah squad.
Utah's Celtic Storm was shut out 3-0 in the Under-19 Girls semifinal by Colorado Rush Nike, which advanced to the title game against Laguna Hills Eclipse United of California.
More than 240 youth soccer teamsincluding 13 from Utahcompeted in the weeklong regional tournament. Winners of the Under-14 through Under-19 brackets earn a berth to the 2006 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships July 25-30 in Des Moines, Iowa.
