HIGHLAND For those who want to enjoy the outdoors or lend a helping hand, the Uinta National Forest Service is looking for volunteers to help clean up Highland Glen Park on Saturday.
Crews will remove noxious weeds that have invaded the park, as well as remove trash and debris. The service project will improve the habitat for wildlife including deer, pheasant and quail. The project is sponsored by Highland City, The Forest Service, The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and the Utah County Cooperative Weed Management Area.
Participants are encouraged to wear long sleeves and pants and bring their own gloves and water. The project will be from 8 a.m. until noon. Volunteers should meet at the park, which is adjacent to Lone Peak High School. For more information contact Emily Gillingwater at 756-5751 or Joe McFarlane, Pleasant Grove Ranger District Volunteer Coordinator, at 342-5254.
