S.L. Library, USU group announce book awards

The Utah Center for the Book at the Salt Lake City Library has announced the winners of the 2005 Utah Book Awards:

"Eating Stone: Imagination and the Loss of the Wild," by Ellen Meloy, non-fiction

"Rain in the Valley," by Helen Papanikolas, fiction

"In All Their Animal Brilliance," by Lance Larsen, poetry

"Princess Academy," by Shannon Hale, youth

"David O. McKay and the Rise of Modern Mormonism," by Gregory A. Prince and William Robert Wright, has received the 2005 Evans Handcart Award by the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies at Utah State University, Logan, in recognition of an outstanding biography of a person who played a role in the history of the West and/or Mormonism.
