BASEBALL: Shortstop Ryan Khoury was named the District VIII player of the year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Khoury batted .438 with 13 home runs in 2006, while driving in 56 runs. Also, Utah head baseball coach Bill Kinneberg has announced the signing of four student-athletes to national letters-of-intent. Nate Burnham (Mesa, Ariz.), Fred Ferguson (Park City), Stephen Fife (Borah, Idaho) and Dustin Hennis (Phoenix) will join the Utes.

BASEBALL: Outfielder Ben Saylor was selected to another all-American team. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its Pro-Line Cap/NCBWA All-America Division I baseball teams on Tuesday, and Saylor was named to the third team. Saylor ranked ninth in the nation in homers with 21. Earlier this month, Saylor received third-team all-American recognition by Collegiate Baseball magazine.
