Kearns fitness and aquatic center plans grand opening this weekend

The Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center will open the doors of its new $10.5 million aquatic park and fitness center this weekend.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and include remarks from local community leaders, a flag ceremony and tours of the new facility, 5624 S. 4800 West.The facility opens Saturday, July 4, at 10 a.m., with several activities, and fireworks in the evening.

The aquatic park includes indoor and outdoor activity pools complete with water features and slides, an outdoor 50-meter pool and a 10-meter diving tower.

The indoor fitness center boasts a dance and aerobic room, weight training/cardiovascular room and a double-sized gym.

All special activities and ceremonies are open and free to the public. Access to the Aquatic Park will be $1 for the grand opening (free with membership).
