Early morning fire guts a home above North S.L.

A home under construction on Rockwood Drive on the hillside above North Salt Lake was destroyed in an early morning fire Thursday.

Firefighters from South Davis Fire District were still on the scene late Thursday morning, mopping up hot spots and investigating the cause of the blaze.A Davis County sheriff's dispatcher said the fire was first reported at 5:30 a.m.

The smoke's fire swamped much of the South Davis area Thursday during the commute.
