Frank Rodriguez tossed a four-hit, complete-game shutout for the Salt Lake Buzz Wednesday afternoon as they defeated the Calgary Cannons 5-0 in a Pacific Coast League baseball game.

The Buzz finally ended a five-game losing streak. They were led offensively by designated hitter Chad Rupp and left-fielder Marc Lewis, who each hit home runs.Lewis's homer, his fourth of the season, was a solo shot in the fifth that gave the Buzz a 2-0 lead. Rupp's 15th dinger was a two-run shot in the sixth that gave the Buzz a 4-0 lead.

Rodriguez (3-7) held the Cannons hitless until the fifth inning, when first baseman Craig Wilson singled.

Calgary starter Rich Pratt (2-7) absorbed the loss in allowing seven hits and all five of Salt Lake's earned runs. The decision ended the Cannons' eight-game winning streak at home.

The two teams finish their four-game series in Calgary Thursday and Friday, with the Buzz returning home Saturday for a three-game stand against Vancouver.
