Saberhagen (10-5) retired the first 10 batters and had still faced the minimum before Shane Andrews homered with one out in the sixth.

TWINS 2, REDS 1: Brad Radke, Minnesota's lone All-Star representative, got his ninth win as the Twins halted Cincinnati's five-game winning streak.

BRAVES 6, DEVIL RAYS 5: Chipper Jones' second homer of the game - a two-run, two-out shot off Roberto Hernandez in the ninth inning - lifted Atlanta to victory at Tampa Bay.

MARLINS 5, ORIOLES 3: Livan Hernandez won his fourth straight decision as Florida handed host Baltimore its eighth straight loss.

INDIANS 5, BREWERS 2: All-Stars Jim Thome and Omar Vizquel each drove in two runs and Kenny Lofton had three hits as Cleveland snapped a three-game losing streak by winning at Milwaukee.

ROYALS 6, CARDINALS 4: Tim Belcher won for the fifth time in six decisions, and Jeff Conine and Dean Palmer each had three RBIs as host Kansas City won for the eighth time in 10 games.

Mark McGwire, who hit his major league-leading 37th homer the previous night, went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts for St. Louis. The Cardinals have lost seven of eight.

DODGERS 7, RANGERS 5: Los Angeles won at Texas as Eric Karros' two-run double capped a three-run rally in the ninth inning off All-Star closer John Wetteland.

ASTROS 10, WHITE SOX 4: At Houston, Moises Alou drove in four runs and Sean Berry tied his career-high with four hits as the Astros continued their scoring splurge.

GIANTS 6, ANGELS 3: Bill Mueller hit a three-run homer in the 10th inning after failing in two sacrifice attempts, lifting San Francisco to victory at Anaheim.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

CUBS 6, DIAMONDBACKS 4: Chicago rookie Kerry Wood, left off the NL All-Star team, struck out 13 in eight innings and improved his home record to 6-0.

Wood (8-3) gave up two runs and three hits. Sammy Sosa, who hit a record 20 homers in June, began July with a pair of RBI doubles for the Cubs.
