FRESNO Fresno rallied for four runs in the bottom of the eighth to give the Grizzlies an 8-5 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Monday night.
The Grizzlies loaded the bases with no outs against Chris Bootcheck (2-2) when, with one out, they tied the game on a sacrifice fly by Juan Melo. An infield single by Jed Hansen brought home the go-ahead run and a two-run double by Justin Knoedler capped off the inning.
The Bees had taken a 5-4 lead in the top of the eighth on a run-scoring groundout by Casey Smith and an RBI double by Reggie Willits, which extends his on-base streak to 20 games.
Howie Kendrick added two hits and an RBI, as the Bees failed in their fifth attempt to get to 11 games above .500.
Darin Erstad was 0-for-2 with a walk in his third rehab game for Salt Lake, while Maicer Izturis was 1-for-4 with an RBI in his seventh game with the Bees.
The 2005 Cy Young Award winner Bartolo Colon will make an injury rehab start for the Bees this afternoon in Fresno.
