Mr. Howard Anderson's letter regarding the LDS practice of posthumous baptism of Holocaust survivors shows his profound ignorance (Readers' Forum, June 1).
In answer to the question, "Why do baptisms offend?" I offer one of many reasons: It is disrespectful and insensitive. It is ignorant and insensitive to make the absurd comparison between his perceived "persecution" and that of the Jews.
I suggest Anderson educate himself in history, politics and religion, then meet people outside of his own ward, people from diverse backgrounds.
