PROVO A former Brigham Young University student has been charged with sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy.
Oleg Barabash, 27, is charged with four second-degree felonies of sex abuse of a child and two class A misdemeanors of lewdness involving a child.
The child's mother contacted police after her son told her about alleged sexual activity with Barabash.
Barabash was a sophomore at BYU, attending on a student visa, school officials said. He was banned and dismissed from BYU a day after his arrest on May 22.
Barabash remains in the Utah County Jail on $5,000 cash only bail.
