OGDEN A woman accused of having sex with two teenage boys appeared in 2nd District Court here to face a laundry list of charges.
Karma Monk, 46, appeared to grow bored as a court clerk read off the 37 charges against her Friday morning. Monk is charged with 34 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; a charge of dealing harmful material to a minor, a third-degree felony; a charge of rape, a first-degree felony; and a charge of forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony.
Prosecutors dismissed a case filed in 2005 against her. Deputy Weber County Attorney Brenda Beaton said the allegations were included in the most recent case filed against Monk.
"One case is being dismissed," she said Friday. "We dismissed the case without prejudice."
Monk's attorney declined to comment outside of court.
Monk is accused of having sex with two teenage boys she befriended through family members, letting them visit her home. Over the course of a year, Ogden police said, Monk supplied them with alcohol, drugs and pornography.
"There were some sexual encounters between her and the kids," said Ogden Police Sgt. Kyle Bosgieter. One of the teenage boys reportedly went to police, who began investigating.
Monk is scheduled to return to court on July 21.
