• Red Butte Garden is sponsoring a lecture on herbs at noon on Thursday and a class on roses at 10 a.m. on June 10. No registration is required. Regular garden admission applies. For more information, call 581-4747 or log on to www.redbuttegarden.org.

• The People Helping People Garden Tour is set for June 10, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The self-guided tour features several gardens in the Federal Heights area. Tickets, which are $15 per person, are available at www.phputah.org or at the Masonic Temple, 650 E. South Temple, on the day of the tour. For more information, call 355-5538.

• Thanksgiving Point in Lehi is sponsoring a series of classes on perennials June 13, 20 and 27. The classes, which will be taught by Deseret Morning News garden columnist Larry Sagers, will be held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Cost is $40.
