Leo Gonzalez has resigned from his position as director of Hispanic Affairs to take a post in the private sector.
"It was a great experience being able to serve my community," said Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was appointed to head the office in March 2005.
Gonzalez said he accepted a position as partner in Diversity Talent Services, a new recruiting company. Gonzalez said he planned to continue community service through involvement on several boards.
Luz Robles, director of the Utah Office of Ethnic Affairs, said a search for a replacement would begin soon.
"He'll still be serving in the community and and partner with our office," she said. "It's a good transition. We're happy for him."
