Lineup in Utah to include 'Spamalot,' 'Scoundrels'

Touring production of "Monty Python's Spamalot" will play at the Capitol Theatre in September 2007.

Broadway Across America: Utah announced its 2006-07 subscription series lineup Tuesday night, prior to the opening of the national touring presentation of "Hairspray" at Kingsbury Hall. Next season includes:

"Sweet Charity," Nov. 14-19, starring Molly Ringwald (Capitol Theatre).

"On Golden Pond," Jan. 16-21, 2007, starring Tom Bosley and Michael Learned (Kingsbury Hall).

"Jesus Christ Superstar," Feb. 6-11, starring Ted Neeley (Kingsbury Hall).

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," April 24-29. The musical follows two con artists as they take on the lifestyles of the rich and shameless and end up with more than they bargained for (Capitol Theatre).

"Monty Python's Spamalot," Sept. 4-16. The 2005 Tony Award-winner for best musical is scheduled for a two-week engagement (Capitol Theatre).

Additional "priority offer" shows include:

"Rain," Sept. 29. The Denver Post described it as "the next best thing to seeing the Beatles" (Capitol Theatre).

"A Kurt Bestor Christmas," Dec. 5-19 (Abravanel Hall).

"Mariachi Christmas," Dec. 6. The show combines the work of two companies — Ballet Folklorico Paso Del Norte and Mariachi Los Arrieros de El Paso (Kingsbury Hall).

"One Man Star Wars," May 1-6, featuring Charles Ross (Jeanne Wagner Theatre).
