Take your mom out to eat

The following restaurants are hosting Mother's Day brunches or dinners on Sunday:

Log Haven has a Mother's Day dinner from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. The fixed-priced menu is $30, with entree choices of grilled wild salmon, roasted leg of lamb, seared chicken breast or flatiron steak.

Harry's Sugarhouse, 1355 E. 2100 South, last week began offering a weekly Sunday brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The brunch will feature favorites such as French toast, eggs Benedict and bananas Foster.

Little America, 500 S. Main, is hosting a Mother's Day buffet brunch from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The menu includes fresh seafood, salads, custom omelets, roast pork loin, stuffed chicken breast Florentine, blackened salmon and steamed crab legs. Price is $31 for adults; $13.50 for children ages 6-12 (363-6781).

The Grand America is hosting a Mother's Day Brunch from 10:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., featuring salads, antipasto, fresh seafood, breakfast items, a carving station and fresh breads and desserts. Reservations recommended; $45 for adults; $22.50 for children (258-6708).

In addition, the Grand is sponsoring a Mom's Night Out Seafood Buffet at the Garden Cafe Saturday, 6-9 p.m. The buffet includes king crab legs, cedar plank salmon, seafood stew, a raw bar, hand-rolled sushi and fresh fish of the day. Cost is $32 per person.

The hotel is also hosting a Mother and Daughter Rose Tea Saturday in the lobby lounge, with an informal fashion show. Reservations can be made for either 12:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m., $18 per person. A Grand Finale dessert presentation of tarts, cakes, chocolate fondue and trifles is available Friday and Saturday 7-10 p.m., $12 per person (258-6708).

Lugano, 3364 S. 2300 East, is offering a Mother's Day dinner from 4-9 p.m. (412-9994).

Pine, 4760 S. 900 East, is offering a Mother's Day buffet brunch from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for $24.95 per person (288-2211).

The Blue Boar Inn in Midway is offering a Mother's Day five-course brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Entrees include thyme and garlic marinated pork loin and blackened Pacific swordfish medallions, ranging from $25 to $35 per person. Reservations recommended (888-650-1400).
