A lot of my friends kid me because I still have my "Corroon For Mayor" bumper-sticker on my vehicle. I tell them that as long as Peter Corroon continues to do an outstanding job as Salt Lake County's mayor, it stays. With his decision to deny Real Salt Lake and its pushy owner, Dave Checketts, their quest for taxpayer dollars to build a stadium, the sticker will stay for a long, long time. The team's front office takes offense because Corroon wants the public to have a clear look at where taxpayer dollars are going. The state Legislature may cave in to Checketts, but Corroon and the County Council are watching out for us.
