High school graduations are right around the corner.
And the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is putting students and anyone else who is thinking about drinking and driving or planning a party in the canyons on notice.
The sheriff's office has announced it will be conducting checkpoints in Big and Little Cottonwood canyons during the last two weeks of May to coincide with graduations.
Deputies will check drivers' licenses, registrations and proof of insurance at the checkpoints as well as be on the lookout for impaired or underage drivers.
