"Since you are now graduated from this wonderful institution, I would encourage you to look at the larger picture and personally determine to be an exceptional instrument in returning the great values and virtues back to this nation . . . which your forefathers dreamed would be yours," Kikuchi said.

Two graduating students presented remarks. Megan Anderson of Winnipeg, Canada, encouraged her classmates to "stick to it," whether they were considering continuing their education or entering the work force. Geoffrey A. Howard, of Michigan, urged them to apply throughout their lives what they learned at the college.

"Some of us will leave this school headed for more formal education," he said. "Some of us leave to start our careers. Others may be starting families or serving missions. Wherever life takes us, I hope that we can cling to the lessons learned in this school and continue to pursue wisdom throughout our lives."

Bruce L. Newbold, retired chief executive officer and president of Yost Office, received the college's highest honor, the Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The Alumni Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed by the alumni association, was earned by Amram Musungu. Larry Richards received Professor of the Year, and Adjunct Professor of the Year was Scott Newman.

The college's overall enrollment averaged 1,275 this year, with students from nearly all 50 states and 46 countries.
