Several companies based in Utah or with connections to the state reported quarterly financial results on Thursday.

Extra Space Storage

Salt Lake-based real estate investment trust Extra Space Storage reported funds from operations of $11 million, or 20 cents per share, for the quarter ended March 31. That compares with $5 million, or 15 cents per share, for the year-earlier quarter.

Revenues for the second-largest U.S. operator of self-storage facilities totaled $45.4 million, up from $22.9 million a year ago. Net income was $738,000, compared with a net loss of $640,000 a year earlier.

The results for the most recent quarter include operations of 553 properties, 198 of which were consolidated and 355 of which were held in joint ventures. The year-ago figures include operations of 148 properties, 130 of which were consolidated and 18 of which were in joint ventures.

Extra Space stock fell 10 cents Thursday to close at $15.44 per share on the New York Stock Exchange. During the past year, the price has ranged from $12.19 to $17.22.

InvesTools

Salt Lake-based InvesTools Inc. reported a net loss of $9.9 million, or 22 cents per share, for the quarter ended March 31. That compares with a loss of $9.3 million, or 21 cents per share, in the year-earlier quarter.

Revenues were a company-record $38.8 million, up from $30.6 million a year earlier.

InvesTools offers investor education products and services.

The company's stock fell 24 cents, or 2.5 percent, Thursday to close at $9.46 per share on AMEX. During the past year, the price has ranged from $3.25 to $9.85.

iMergent

Orem-based iMergent reported net income of $2.8 million, or 22 cents per share, for the quarter ended March 31. That compares with a net loss of $6.4 million, or 54 cents per share, for the same quarter a year earlier.

Revenue for the fiscal third quarter totaled $25 million, up from $10.3 million.

The company provides e-commerce and software for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The company's stock rose $3.29, or 26.8 percent, Thursday to close at a new 52-week high of $15.55 per share on AMEX. During the past year, the price has been as low as $2.87.
