PROVO The trial of a man accused of raping a woman he met through a Web site for LDS singles has been pushed back for a few more months.
Kent Parkinson's jury trial was scheduled to start May 19 but his attorney asked for an extension Tuesday so she can gather more evidence.
Defense attorney Deborah Hill and government prosecutors are waiting on information from both Parkinson's computer and the computer of the alleged victim.
Parkinson is charged in 4th District Court with one charge of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of forcible sodomy and 10 charges of rape, all first-degree felonies.
Parkinson will have a pretrial conference Aug. 1 at 9:30 a.m.
In December, after Internet chats and phone calls, Parkinson and the alleged victim agreed to meet. As they were watching a movie at Parkinson's house, he allegedly sexually assaulted the woman.
Over the next 10 hours, he allegedly raped her repeatedly and refused to let her leave.
Parkinson is also charged with five counts of forcible sex abuse from a similar incident in October 2004. In that case, the woman alleges she met Parkinson online, they then met in person to watch a movie and he sexually assaulted her.
